Repair Cafe

The Kings Worthy Community Shed is now associated with the Winchester Repair Cafe who hold monthly meetings. The Repair Cafe meets at the Badger Farm Community Centre in the mornings from 10 am to 12.30. For a list of Repair Cafe times see Repair Cafe Events.

What is a Repair Cafe

Repair Café Winchester is one of many cafés across the world that address the recycling issue by bringing together skilled volunteers who can fix all sorts of items and pass on the skills to their owners, who watch while it is mended. Our volunteers want to show you how much fun repairing things can be, and how easy it often is!

Booking

If we cannot fix an item i.e. it needs a spare part or particular tools we will take it back to the Shed for fixing. You need to book a session filling in the booking form. We will confirm a place with you and may ask you for more information.

When you come along you will be asked to fill in some details about your item and sign a disclaimer – we will do our best to repair your item but cannot guarantee that we can mend everything. You are welcome to enjoy a drink and some cake while you are waiting.

Once our volunteer repairer is ready you will go over to them, and they will identify whether they can help. You sit with the volunteer during the mend. If we cannot fix an item i.e. it needs a spare part or particular tools we will take it back to the Shed for fixing.
